About Pete

Pete Dafeet is a 25 year old deep house producer and co-owner of Lost My Dog Records, who started DJing in the late 90s after messing around with his cousin's decks. Learning the basics of a computer sequencer in 2003, Pete started producing deep, rhythmic house and quickly caught the eye of northern house heavyweights Shaboom who put him to work on remixing duties. In the 5 years and 30 odd releases since, Pete has sold over 20,000 records and has released and remixed on Robsoul, Bosh, Shaboom, and Toolroom; music that's been widely supported from across the spectrum of house music - Mark Farina, Danny Tenaglia, X-Press 2, Laurent Garnier and Roger Sanchez have all supported Pete's music.

Starting a label was a natural progression, and in 2004 Pete set up Lost My Dog with Ian Straker and Nagajan Modhwadia. In the 25 releases since, Lost My Dog has established itself as one of the UK's leading deep house labels - Jay Tripwire, Fred Everything and Greenskeepers have all featured, and the label was listed in iDJ as one of the "100 Reason's Why Dance Music Still Rules".

Pete's sideline is Southside Shuffle, which he started as a means to promote music from young, like minded producers. Having returned in 2008 after a two year hiatus, Southside Shuffle showcases fresh and innovative music from around the world, specialising in deep house and electronic grooves.
